Women's Studio Workshop (WSW) is a visual arts organization in Rosendale, NY. Since 1974, WSW has brought over 5,000 artists from across the globe to work in their printmaking, hand papermaking, letterpress printing, photography, book arts and ceramics studios. WSW offers women-identified artists time and space to create new work in the form of internships and artist residencies. In July and August, the Summer Art Institute brings leaders in the visual arts to the Hudson Valley to teach week-long, intensive workshops. WSW also offers ceramics classes throughout the year. Betsy Jacaruso Studio and Gallery in Rhinebeck, NY www.betsyjacarusoartist.com has gained the reputation of being a gifted artist and instructor who teaches drawing and watercolor techniques as a way of realizing individual vision. The classes, offered to both beginning and advanced artists alike, are held in a relaxed group atmosphere with a focus on learning basic watercolor techniques while developing and cultivating a personal style. The Katonah Art Center est. 1998, has become Northern Westchester's go-to hub for artistic learning. With classes for all ages and levels. The National Art League is a non-profit organization of professional artists, serious students and those interested in participating in and supporting the advancement of the creative arts of drawing, painting and sculpture. The League was founded in 1930 by Alice Chase Sullivan and Helen Chase Storm, the daughters of William Merritt Chase, renowned Impressionist and Society Portraitist. We offer daily classes and workshops from Monday through Saturday for beginner to advanced adult students and children. Westchester Community College Center for the Arts in White Plains, NY is an art school for all ages. Community education classes for adults such as Floral Photography, Photoshop as a Tool for Painters, and Stonesetting are available for registration. The Warwick Atelier Artist Susan Hope Fogel guides students through the principles of painting and drawing in the representational style. Rockland Center for the Arts in West Nyack, NY was founded in 1947 by a group of renowned artists including Aaron Copland, Paulette Goddard, and Helen Hayes.
